Cementoplastia del hueso ilíaco izquierdo

Introducción: Las técnicas de cementoplastia, solas o combinadas con ablación por radiofrecuencia, son útiles en los pacientes con dolor provocado por las metástasis óseas extraespinales.
Objetivo: Presentar un caso en el que se empleó la técnica de cementoplastia para el alivio del dolor provocado por metástasis en el hueso ilíaco izquierdo.
Caso clínico: Paciente masculino de 26 años de edad, operado por sarcoma de húmero izquierdo, con dolor intenso causado por metástasis en el hueso ilíaco izquierdo. Se le aplicó 12 ml de polimetilmetacrilato en el interior de la lesión guiado por tomografía axial computarizada. La escala visual análoga antes del tratamiento fue de 9/10 y posterior a este de 0/10. Se logró la mejoría clínica del enfermo, con desaparición del dolor a las dos horas de concluir el proceder, sin complicaciones.
Conclusiones: La técnica de cementoplastia es una alternativa útil para el tratamiento del dolor en los pacientes con metástasis ósea sacroíliaca.
