Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the main causes of chronic disease and limb loss worldwide. The "diabetic foot" is one of the most important chronic complications of Diabetes Mellitus. Multiple risk factors predispose to the appearance of the same, including breech deformities. The P-Walk Platform is part of the Movement Analysis Laboratory is one of the most advanced technologies in the field of rehabilitation, used for the analysis and evaluation of movement, through the static and dynamic measurement of plantar pressures and the forces of the step.

Methods: Bibliographic review was carried out through electronic searches and libraries of national and foreign medical journals indexed in SciELO, Imbiomed and PubMed; in a horizon of 10 years in Spanish and English, as well as revisions of thesis of completion of studies and textbooks with information related to the breech deformities and the appearance of diabetic foot.

Conclusions: The P-WALK walking platform, through the static and dynamic measurement of plantar pressures and passage forces, allows an early diagnosis of the podic deformities and define an effective and personalized intervention strategy for each patient by rehabilitation, which prevents the onset of diabetic foot.
