Abstract

Multiple have been the attempts to define the essence of the beautiful, from considering it as a manifestation of good or truth, to affirming that beauty is symmetry. In this paper we propose a way to deal with the current problems of plastic surgery, an approach that we consider may also be applicable to other specialties that perform procedures on healthy subjects, not always necessary and we address some ethical considerations on the indication or refusal of the requested treatment, always taking into account the basic principles of bioethics, and that medicine, in any of its forms, including aesthetic surgery, is a profession of service.
