Enfermedad de Mondor de la mama

Abstract

La enfermedad de Mondor de la mama es una condición benigna y poco común caracterizada por tromboflebitis de las venas superficiales de la pared torácica en la región mamaria. En la mayoría de casos es unilateral. Clínicamente se manifiesta como un cordón subcutáneo indurado, de rápida aparición. La etiología de esta condición aún no está clara, pero se puede relacionar en algunos casos con traumatismo local, esfuerzo muscular, procedimientos quirúrgicos, y/u otros. Afecta principalmente a mujeres de edades comprendidas entre los 21 y 55 años de edad, aunque también afecta a los hombres, pero en menor medida. El diagnóstico es fundamentalmente clínico y sólo tratamiento sintomático con evolución satisfactoria sin secuelas. Se presenta caso de paciente femenina de 39 años de edad con antecedentes de plastia de mama izquierda que es diagnosticada con esta patología.
