Dientes neonatales
Abstract
La erupción dentaria sigue un patrón de tiempo y secuencia definidos clínicamente. Se considera erupción clínica al momento en que se puede observar una parte del esmalte de la corona dentaria: El periodo normal de erupción de los dientes temporales se inicia a los seis meses de edad, con los incisivos centrales inferiores. En algunos casos raros, estos dientes están presentes al nacimiento o aparecen en los primeros 28 días de vida y se les denominan dientes natales y neonatales respectivamente; también se consideran como erupción prematura. Los dientes natales y neonatales son anomalías relativamente raras en los recién nacidos, que pueden causar trastornos en la alimentación, ulceraciones traumáticas sublinguales (enfermedad de Riga-Fede) Se realiza la presentación de un caso diagnosticado con dientes natales donde se explica y discute plan de tratamiento y conducta a seguir.
