Historia de la histología en el ICBP Victoria de Girón. Revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

Introducción: La histología estudia las características estructurales, funcionales y moleculares de la célula, tejidos, órganos y sistemas de órganos y las   leyes que rigen estos diferentes niveles de organización. Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica mediante los buscadores Scholar Google y Central Pub Med, se consultaron planes de estudio, el libro de firma de graduados y entrevistas a profesores. En el año 1962 el Comandante en Jefe inaugura el ICBP "Victoria de Girón” para la formación masiva de médicos y se inicia la impartición de la asignatura Histología, así como la formación de especialistas con un elevado nivel científico técnico y pedagógico. Se desarrollan excelentes planes de estudio de especialización, maestrías y doctorados. En el pre-grado se transita por diferentes modalidades: integrados y por asignaturas. En la actualidad se imparte el plan D, que no favorece la impartición de esta ciencia lo cual unido a la escasez de láminas histológicas tiene un impacto negativo. El desarrollo del claustro ha sido bueno, aunque ha mermado la formación de Doctores en Ciencias debido a obsolescencia del equipamiento y déficit de reactivos, lo cual dificulta ejecutar   investigaciones de impacto y desarrollar   doctorados del primer y segundo nivel. Conclusiones Se debe trazar una estrategia para rescatar el desarrollo ascendente que mostraba esta ciencia, perfeccionar la docencia en pre-grado, elevar el número de investigaciones de impacto e incrementar el número de Doctores en Ciencias.
