Abstract

Introducción: Los marcapasos(MP) son dispositivos de estimulación eléctrica altamente eficaces en el tratamiento de las bradiarritmias y bloqueos cardiacos. La realización del primer registro de marcapasos cubano y la puesta en marcha de este servicio en nuestro hospital motivan la realización de este trabajo. Objetivos: Conocer la situación actual del implante de marcapasos en nuestro centro, respecto a datos clínicos, indicación, tipo de implante, de dispositivo y complicaciones del procedimiento. Métodos: Los datos del registro se obtuvieron a través de la planilla de recolección, que fue cumplimentada de forma voluntaria a cada paciente durante el implante Resultados: El número de implantes fue 47. La media de la edad fue de 69.8±18.9y predominó el sexo masculino (65.5%). El 65.9 % fue de primoimplantes, los dispositivos bicamerales representaron el 53.1 % de la muestra. La causa más común del implante lo constituyeron los bloqueos auriculoventricular(BAV) de alto grado. Los antecedentes patológicos que predominaron en los pacientes fueron la hipertensión arterial (78 %) y el tabaquismo (55 %). Las complicaciones fueron infrecuentes. El modo de estimulación más frecuente fue el bicameral. La edad fue un factor influyente en la determinación del modo de estimulación. Los resultados son comparables con estudios nacionales e internacionales.
