Heberprot-p en el tratamiento del Pie Diabético Isquémico con alto riesgo de amputación mayor

Abstract

La Diabetes Mellitus se postula como una de las grandes epidemias del siglo XXI, siendo el pie diabético una de sus mayores complicaciones debido al alto número de ingresos en los servicios hospitalarios. La asociación con una enfermedad arterial periférica crónica la posibilidad de una amputación mayor aumenta con la consiguiente pérdida de la calidad de vida y disminuyendo la expectativa de vida. Se presenta el resultado del tratamiento con Factor de Crecimiento Epidérmico Humano Recombinante (Heberprot-p) en una paciente con alto riesgo de amputación mayor, por pie diabético isquémico, asociado a isquemia crítica de su extremidad inferior posterior a cirugía revascularizadora por oclusión aortoiliaca. De forma satisfactoria fue posible el tratamiento intralesional del Heberprot-p, aplicándole 24 dosis, con en el cual se logró más de 90% de granulación con la consiguiente cicatrización evitándose la amputación mayor de la extremidad y mejorando la calidad de vida.
