Morbilidad psiquiátrica en los pacientes hospitalizados en medicina y cirugía

Abstract

 

 

Introducción. En los últimos años la psiquiatría de enlace e interconsulta ha experimentado un salto cualitativo, acercándose cada vez más al espacio común del resto de las especialidades médicas: el hospital general. A nivel mundial, se ha reconocido plenamente la coexistencia de un vínculo entre la enfermedad médica y la psiquiátrica. Métodos. Se realizó un estudio observacional, transversal y de alcance descriptivo, donde se revisaron las historias clínicas de 189 pacientes hospitalizados en el área de medicina interna y cirugía del Centro de Investigaciones Médico Quirúrgicas, que demandaron interconsulta de psiquiatría durante el periodo de febrero de 2017 a febrero de 2019. Resultados. Se observó que solicitaron más interconsulta psiquiátrica los pacientes del sexo femenino (53, 44%) en comparación con el sexo masculino (46,56 %). El rango de edad, fue, entre 60 y 79 años (62,42 %). El (51,33 %) no tenía pareja y el (44,91 %) tenían un nivel de escolaridad de preuniversitario. El motivo de mayor solicitud fue la depresión (24,86 %). Los diagnósticos orgánicos más frecuentes fueron la hipertensión arterial (11,64 %), la diabetes mellitus (11,11 %) y los accidentes cerebrales vasculares (11,11 %). Conclusiones. Los pacientes que más demandaron atención psiquiátrica fueron los hospitalizados en las salas de medicina (60,84%) respecto a Cirugía (39,16 %), El diagnóstico psiquiátrico más frecuente fue el trastorno adaptativo depresivo (31,21 %).
