Maltrato infantil. Experiencia en consultas

Abstract

El maltrato infantil abarca todas las formas de maltrato físicoy/o emocional incluyendo el abuso sexual, desatención o trato desconsiderado, explotación comercial o de otra índole, lo que ocasiona un daño real o potencial a la salud, supervivencia, desarrollo o dignidad del niño, en el contexto de una relación deresponsabilidad confianza ypoder.El propósito del presente trabajo fue establecer la presencia del maltrato infantil y su clasificación, en pacientes que acudieron a la consulta de pediatría. Se hizo un estudio prospectivo descriptivo de maltrato infantil, de seis pacientes entre 1 y 13 años de edad, de ambos sexos, que fueron traídos a consulta de pediatría por sus padres u otro familiar, en el primer semestre del año 2018. Todos los pacientes atendidos acudieron a la consulta, por motivos no directos a un maltrato, el cual se detectó mediante el interrogario u examen físico. Predominó el sexo masculino (83 %). Hubo tres pacientes con maltratos de forma intencional,uno de causa indeterminada, uno no intencional, y uno pornegligencia. Se llegó a la conclusión que existieron dificultades en la detección del maltrato infantil, dadas sobre todo, por la negación de los familiares encargados de la atención de los infantes. Solamente pudimos reportar un paciente a las autoridades,por lo que se debe continuar profundizando en este tema.
