La rehabilitación del cáncer de mama en Cuba

Abstract

 

El cáncer de mama constituye un problema de salud a nivel mundial. El impacto sanitario, social y económico es, por tanto, realmente importante, teniendo en cuenta que afecta fundamentalmente a mujeres en edades tempranas y que en un tercio de los casos se convierte en una enfermedad crónica. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sobre las diferentes modalidades terapéuticas de la rehabilitación de las pacientes con cáncer de mama con el objetivo de obtener conocimientos sobre el tema e implementar un protocolo de tratamiento en nuestro centro. Para esto se accedió a las bases de datos PubMed y Cochrane por ser estas de mayor evidencia científica a través del buscador Firefox en un período de tres meses. De este trabajo de revisión se concluyó que el ejercicio físico disminuye las secuelas del tratamiento y el riesgo de recaídas. El tratamiento fundamental del linfedema es el tratamiento preventivo y la rehabilitación en el cáncer de mama, constituye un campo relativamente virgen de investigación en Cuba.
