Tratamiento de la Alopecia Areata Universal con concentrado de plaquetas
Abstract
El afán de dar a la figura humana los perfiles más cercanos a la perfección, ha sido desde los tiempos más remotos el mayor empeño del hombre, en términos de belleza. El pelo es una estructura proteica con poca importancia funcional en el organismo; sin embargo, sus alteraciones tienen un intenso efecto psicológico en niños, adolescentes y sus familiares. La alopecia areata es una alopecia común, no cicatricial y telogénica, de base autoinmune que puede afectar cualquier área pilosa del cuerpo. Aunque se han descrito varias líneas de manejo para esta condición, todas tienen una tasa de recaída significativa, con efectos secundarios diversos. El concentrado de plaquetas es una preparación de plaquetas autólogas en plasma concentrado. En este trabajo presentamos el caso de una paciente femenina, mestiza, de 37 años de edad que padece una alopecia areata universal con respuesta muy favorable al tratamiento con concentrado de plaquetas.
