Colitis Ulcerativa. Presentación de un caso clínico
Abstract
La colitis ulcerativa es una enfermedad crónica, inflamatoria, ulcerosa y recidivante del tracto gastrointestinal, que evoluciona por recaídas; se origina en la mucosa y submucosa del colon, dañando el revestimiento interno del tejido intestinal y se caracteriza por la presencia de una diarrea, que puede ser profusa y sanguinolenta. En el presente trabajo se reporta un caso de un paciente joven, masculino, de 30 años de
edad, color de piel mestiza, con antecedentes de salud anterior, que acude a consulta refiriendo que hace aproximadamente cuatro a cinco meses, presenta deposiciones líquidas y semi-pastosas, en ocasiones con presencia de sangre y flemas, acompañado en ocasiones de febrículas y fiebre de 39
oC, dolor abdominal, anorexia, astenia y pérdida de peso. Se tuvo en cuenta estudios de Hematología, Imageneología y Endoscopia. El diagnóstico se confirmó por Anatomía Patológica de Colitis Ulcerativa. La terapéutica aplicada fue con el uso de mesalazina, con una evolución satisfactoria de los síntomas presentados por el paciente.
