Resonancia magnética funcional por difusión en el diagnóstico del cáncer de mama
Abstract
El cáncer de mama es la primera causa de morbilidad y mortalidad en la mujer. En Cuba, la tasa de incidencia en el 2016, fue de 27 x 100 000 mujeres, las fallecidas fueron 1525 pacientes. Esta situación es un gran problema de salud, que requiere de un buen sistema de detección precoz de la enfermedad. Son varias las modalidades imagenológicas que se usan para este fin, entre las que se destacan: la mamografía, la tomosíntesis y la ecografía.
La Resonancia Magnética (RM) ha alcanzado un gran desarrollo en los últimos años, pues no solo oferta el diagnóstico por imagen, sino también técnicas funcionales entre las que se señala la difusión. El objetivo de este trabajo es hacer una revisión de la aplicación de esta técnica en el diagnóstico del cáncer de mama donde puede valorarse la respuesta a la terapia sistémica primaria, estudiar las pacientes de alto riesgo de cáncer de mama y realizar el seguimiento y diferenciar cambios postquirúrgicos de recidiva tumoral.
