Leiomiomatosis metastizante benigna. A propósito de un caso

Abstract

La leiomiomatosis metastizante benigna es una enfermedad rara, que se caracteriza por tumoraciones del músculo liso hiperplásico, que afecta a mujeres de mediana edad con historia previa de leiomiomas uterinos. Se presenta un caso con diagnóstico de leiomiomatosis benigna metastizante. Paciente femenina de 38 años de edad, que acude a consulta por llevar un mes con tos y expectoración blanquecina. Se le realizó un estudio con rayos X del tórax que informó nodulaciones pequeñas diseminadas en ambos campos pulmonares y en la pared costal derecha. En el ultrasonido abdominal se apreciaron múltiples nódulos en cavidad peritoneal, una masa tumoral gigante en el útero y los anejos no se observaron. Se le ejecutó una biopsia con aguja gruesa de la lesión de la pared costal derecha. Después se operó y se realizó una histerectomía total con doble anexectomía. El estudio anátomo-patológico de ambas piezas detectó que se trataba de una leiomiomatosis benigna metastizante.

La paciente ha tenido buena respuesta al tratamiento y hoy conserva buen estado de salud.
