Diagnóstico ecográfico de las rupturas musculares traumáticas en deportistas de alto rendimiento
Abstract
Introducción. El ultrasonido de alta resolución es una técnica avanzada para el estudio del sistema osteomioarticular y resulta especialmente indicado en la detección y seguimiento de las lesiones musculares traumáticas. La ecografía, método no invasivo y más económico, se ha convertido en herramienta muy importante para el diagnóstico y evolución de las rupturas musculares traumáticas.
Métodos. Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo, transversal, que
quedó conformado por 101 deportistas de las diferentes categorías del alto rendimiento, con clínica de lesión muscular traumática, con transductor lineal de 7.5 MHz y uno trapezoidal de 14 MHz
Resultados. De los 101 casos de rupturas musculares traumáticas , el mayor número correspondió al grupo de deportes de fuerza rápida – velocidad, con 44 atletas, seguido del deporte con pelotas, con 34 atletas. Los futbolistas fueron los de mayor incidencia de rupturas musculares con 14 casos, seguidos del baloncesto con 8 atletas, la
edad de los atletas entre 12 y 30 años con una media de 21 años de edad.
Conclusiones. La ecografía en manos experimentadas, es un método
imagenológico de extraordinario valor en el diagnóstico de las rupturas
musculares traumáticas.
