Candidiasis de la mucosa bucal. Presentación de un caso
Abstract
La moniliasis o candidiasis de la mucosa bucal es una de las enfermedades más frecuentes de la mucosa bucal y la afección micótica más común de la cavidad bucal. El agente causal es la Cándida albicans, aunque otros hongos de la especie pueden ser también patógenos para el hombre. Su clasificación varía: seudomembranosa aguda, hiperplásica crónica y Perleche (queilitis angular). Se caracterizan por placas blancas, blandas, ligeramente elevadas, que se desprenden dejando una superficie sangrante; puede evolucionar en formatórpida. Entre sus síntomas destacan dolor, ardentía y resequedad bucal simultáneamente. El objetivo estuvo dado por identificar
las manifestaciones clínicas relacionadas con enfermedades sistémicas. Se presentó un paciente masculino de 73 años de edad, portador de un cuadro severo de moniliasis, agravado por factores locales y descompensación de la diabetes mellitus tipo II. El tratamiento consistió en eliminación de los factores locales y la descompensación glucémica. Se aplicó fitoterapia (manzanilla, llantén), antimicóticos (nistatina) y derivados triazólicos (fluconazol) por la gravedad del caso.
