Tratamiento de lesiones bucales con criocirugía

Abstract

Introducción. En la  cavidad bucal, se producen diversas lesiones por las constantes agresiones que sufre la mucosa, atribuibles al uso de sustancias o agentes físicos, químicos y biológicos, que inducen cambios celulares. Objetivos: La búsqueda de nuevas alternativas de tratamiento más precisas y menos invasivas es crucial. La criocirugía se ha empleado para la eliminación de algunas lesiones de los tejidos de la cavidad bucal. Métodos. Se realizó una intervención terapéutica con criocirugía en 46 pacientes con lesiones bucales, de la Clínica Estomatológica H y 21 durante el año 2018; se combinaron métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos. El tratamiento, evolución y reacciones adversas fueron registrados en una guía de observación. Resultados. Se diagnosticaron estomatitis sub-prótesis, fibromas, épulis fisurado, granuloma piógeno, alveolitis y pericoronaritis.  Se aplicó una, dos sesiones de tratamiento y hubo casos que necesitaron reintervención Se catalogaron los eventos adversos como leves y moderados y la terapéutica con criocirugía efectiva cuando la lesión desapareció totalmente., la mayoría no requirió tratamiento médico en el postoperatorio. Gran parte de las lesiones bucales fueron curadas con la terapia empleada. Conclusiones. Como lesión bucal predominó la estomatitis subprótesis. La mayoría resolvió con una sesión de tratamiento, con leves eventos adversos, se consideró efectiva la terapéutica con criocirugía.
