Apófisis estiloides elongada
Abstract
La apófisis estiloides se origina de la porción timpánica del hueso temporal, su crecimiento anormal u osificación del ligamento estilohioideo produce dolores estimulados por los nervios craneanos sensoriales. Algunos de estos síntomas junto con la apófisis estiloides alargada, se conocen como síndrome de Eagle. El diagnóstico es clínico y radiológico, con tomografía computarizada. El tratamiento quirúrgico está indicado en las personas que no respondan al tratamiento médico y puede realizarse mediante abordaje transoral o externo. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar a un paciente diagnosticado y tratado en el servicio de Otorrinolaringología del Centro de Investigaciones Médico Quirúrgicas y realizar una revisión del tema.
