Cirugía laparoscópica en cáncer colorrectal

Abstract

En la era actual de la cirugía mínimamente invasiva, la cirugía laparoscópica para el cáncer de colon ha sido establecida oncológicamente como similar a la cirugía abierta convencional. Las ventajas de la cirugía laparoscópica se traducen en incisiones más pequeñas y una corta recuperación. Desde el advenimiento de la laparoscopia, los cirujanos se han dirigido hacia el desarrollo de métodos menos invasivos como alternativas viables a los procederes tradicionales. A medida que las técnicas y las tecnologías han avanzado, la cirugía laparoscópica ha sido mejor aceptada y es más comúnmente usada en muchas instituciones. Recientemente una gama de procederes menos invasivos han sido el principal objetivo de muchas instituciones, debido a las ventajas de esta cirugía como son: reducir el dolor postoperatorio, menor tiempo de recuperación y mejor resultado cosmético. Por otro lado, la cirugía laparoscópica tradicional ha servido como base para el refinamiento de los abordajes mínimamente invasivos y como resultado, nuevas técnicas y equipos han surgido.
