Tratamiento de la hiperhidrosis

Abstract

La hiperhidrosis es un trastorno primario caracterizado por sudación
excesiva y que afecta con mayor frecuencia las palmas de las manos, pero puede tomar cualquier otra región del cuerpo. La enfermedad se puede clasificar topográficamente como simétrica y asimétrica. El tratamiento inicial es clínico y multidisciplinario. La primera línea es el tratamiento tópico. La segunda es la ionotroforesis. En tercer lugar se utilizan algunos fármacos. El tratamiento quirúrgico es la otra variante de tratamiento. Se emplean diferentes técnicas. La simpaticotomía (sección), ligadura con clip vascular del tronco y electrocoagulación del nervio sobre las costillas o la simpatectomía (resección), que es la exéresis total o parcial del ganglio, ganglios o segmento del nervio. Simpatectomía torácica endoscópica. Este procedimiento se lleva a cabo en pacientes cuyas palmas de las manos sudan mucho más copiosamente de lo normal. Ta mbién se puede utilizar para tratar la sudación extrema de la cara. Entre sus complicaciones se encuentran la sudación compensatoria en la espalda, estómago o piernas, reducción del pulso cardíaco y de la capacidad pulmonar, dolor crónico en pectorales, extrema sensibilidad al frío, síndrome de Horner y muerte.
