Principales aportes teóricos de la psicología en el estudio del dolor crónico

Abstract

El dolor crónico constituye una de las principales causas que usualmente llevan al individuo a buscar atención médica. El desarrollo científico y los avances en el campo de las ciencias de la salud han ido demostrando de manera creciente la complejidad de este fenómeno y el lugar, cada vez más importante, que los factores psicológicos tienen en su desarrollo. Estas razones nos motivaron a realizar una revisión teórica cuyo objetivo es dar a conocer los principales aportes que desde el campo de la Psicología se han realizado para su mejor comprensión. También se explican algunos de los métodos y técnicas psicológicas que más se han utilizado en su tratamiento.
