Surgical synchrony And Patient Safety
Keywords:
patient safety, surgical equipment, interdisciplinary communicationAbstract
When operating room professionals feel ignored and mutual trust is lacking, well-being and motivation at work deteriorate. This leads to a lack of consistency in preventive measures taken in the operating room and hinders teamwork, which is essential for effective medical care and patient safety. A fragmented surgical team with internal tensions compromises patient safety, reduces efficiency, and jeopardizes the ethical principle enshrined in the Hippocratic Oath: "do no harm to the patient in the act of medicine." It is necessary to promote a culture of respect that supports patient safety, one that fosters intelligence training and shared perspectives. Healthcare professionals must operate with a systematic, protocol-driven approach, demonstrating unity, empathy, trust, and effectiveness in care, with an emphasis on dialogue that protects the patient and ensures worker safety in the operating room.
