Abstract

Introducción. Se diseña un estudio retrospectivo para conocer el comportamiento de los tratamientos con estupefacientes en el Centro de Investigaciones Médico Quirúrgicas desde el día 1ro. de enero del 2005 al 31 de diciembre del 2009.
Métodos. Se incluyeron 96 pacientes adultos ingresados en el CIMEQ en ese periodo con variadas patologías que fueron tratadas con estupefacientes. Se analizaron las variables de: edad, dosis empleadas, duración de tratamiento, servicios prescriptores y diagnósticos. Resultados. Los resultados muestran que la distribución de pacientes por año fue similar excepto en el 2009 donde se incluyeron más del 75% del total de pacientes. El grupo de edad es que más nutrieron el estudio fueron los comprendidos entre 46-60 años con el 35.9 %.La relación entre sexos fue de 0.8 mujeres por hombre.
Conclusiones. El servicio de Medicina fue quien originó el mayor número de prescripciones con el 83.2% de los pacientes incluidos. El medicamento más empleado fue la morfina de 10 mg, en el 92.7% de los pacientes incluidos. La indicación más frecuente fueron las neoplasias, predominando las de pulmón con 16 casos (16.7%).
